The Rotary Club of Roundhay
are organising their eighth Annual North Leeds Charity Beer Festival
5-6 April 2019 which will be held at North Leeds Cricket Club
, Old Park Road, Roundhay. This year they will be featuring the very best #Yorkshire
has to offer with 36 beers from nine Yorkshire breweries and 8 gins, all produced in “Gods own County” in addition fizz will be available for the first time at the festival.
The cricket club bar will be open to purchase additional drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives. Food in the form of home-made samosas as well as pie and peas will be available from the kitchen.
In addition to all that fantastic food and drink there will be some marvellous music from local Leeds talent including new acts and firm favourites from previous years. A full line-up can be found on the website with performance times as a guide.
Why not bring the whole family down on Saturday afternoon and while the kids enjoy the dedicated play area along with child friendly snacks you can have a tipple or two. What’s more admission for your little ones is gratis when accompanied by a paying adult.
Funds raised from the seven previous beer festivals have made it possible for the Rotary Club of Roundhay to back charity projects in the local community and beyond. The Lakeside café playground was one such project they were able to support. The club also installed two defibrillators situated outside Moortown Health Centre and Oakwood Surgery.
The Rotary Club of Roundhay also supports young people giving them opportunities to unlock their potential, develop their skills and broaden their horizons. This has been achieved by sponsoring Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and the Ocean Sailing programme. Additionally the club has been involved in organising writing, music and technology competitions for local schools.
The club have been quick to help those affected by earthquakes, tsunamis and natural disasters by sending equipment to purify water and house displaced populations around the world.
Admission to the 2019 beer festival requires the purchase of a £10 festival pack which includes a glass, programme and three tokens. Tickets can also be bought in advance for a discounted price from the website with full price tickets on the door. For your convenience both card and cash payments are accepted during the festival.

We are indebted to our major sponsors Morley Glass and Glazing Ltd and Express in the Home for their continued support without which the festival wouldn’t take place and the Rotary Club of Roundhay couldn’t fund their worthwhile projects.
Ian Short, Managing Director of Morley Glass says: “We are delighted to be able to sponsor the 8th Annual North Leeds Charity Beer Festival. This is exactly the type of initiative we like to be involved with as it perfectly reflects our ethos of giving back to local communities. I personally will be rolling up my sleeves and helping alongside the Rotarians and I am very much looking forward to the event. I wish NLBF and the Rotary Club of Roundhay every success.”
We would also like acknowledge the support of our individual sponsors and advertisers whose con-tribution is invaluable.
