Learn Bachata in this weekly class (and learn how to impress on the dance floor!). If you're looking for a fun way to build your confidence and meet new people, this class is for you.
What is Bachata?
A beautiful style of social dance originally from the Dominican Republic. Check out this video from Daniel & Desiree for a taster 👉 https://youtu.be/1f3TuA-7Mp8
What will I learn?
— How to lead/follow
— Social dancing skills
— Accurate technique
— Elegant styling
— Fancy Dominican footwork
All classes are based on a syllabus created by world-class bachata dancers, Korke & Judith. Each class builds on the last one, which means plenty of opportunity to practice the moves you learn.
Now is the time to learn, meet new people and join our community!
Cost: £6 per class
What else do I need to know?
— No partner necessary
— Soft soled suede dance shoes or socks only (to protect the soft wood floor of the studio)
— No prior experience is required for the beginners class
— Improver/intermediate class is not suitable for beginners so attend that class or equivalent first to get the most out of it
About the teachers:
The classes are run by Luke (and a guest teacher). Luke has been dancing Bachata for 7 years and Salsa for 13 years, and teaching and DJing for 6 years. He has a distinctly Latino style fused with modern European techniques. He studied extensively in Cuba, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, and has danced a lot all over the UK and Latin America. Luke's dance partner Bonita will be back from the end of July.
Hope to see you there!
